Mamangam is a new historical Malayalam movie. The film is based on the Kerala Martial arts form Kalaripayattu.

Mammootty, Prachi Tehlan, Unni Mukundan, Mohan Sharma, Anu Sithara, Malavika Menon, Abhirami V Iyer, Kaniha, Neeraj Madhav, Manikuttan, Master Achuthan, Sunil Sukhada, Meghanathan, Sudev Nair Tarun Arora, Suresh Krishna, Siddique, Valsala Menon, Iniya in the lead roles. Initially, the film was directed by Sajeev Pillai and due to some reason he has stepped down from the direction and M Padmakumar has stepped up to Direct the film. Sajeev Pillai writes the movie, music is made by M Jayachandran. Venu Kunnappilly produced the movie. The movie is dubbed and will be released in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi as well.

The crew has released a making video of the movie on October 24, 2019. The making video describes the efforts behind the making of the film. From a barren land, they have created beautiful sets in the movie. Around 2500 men took about seven months to complete this magnificent sets. The Kalaripayattu scenes are very much thrilling, and Sham Kaushal does the action choreography. The actors have undergone training in Kalaripayattu and Horse riding as well.

The movie is based on the Mamangam festival where the People known as the Chaaverukal fights against the army of Zamorin rulers to overthrow them from the ruling. Kalaripayattu was mainly a focus for this movie, as the people known as Chaaverukal is good at it.
