Google serves 24*7 to magnify user participation. It strengthens and improves all its algorithms to accommodate relevant answers to user’s search queries. Lately, Google is working on updating the discoverability factor in google maps specifically in India. It is executed by ratifying the ensemble learning model that will automatically transliterate particular points of interest to 10 primary local languages established in India. By uniting this feature in Google Maps, Google will ensure that the users will find accurate results based on search queries written in local languages.
Google declared that the automatic transliterate carries Latin Script names of point of interest in the subsequent languages such as Hindi, Bangla, Marathi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati, Punjabi, Malayalam, and Odia. Whatever the language you would choose in the Google Maps or Chad Kimball Google Maps setting, your search query will result in that transliterated language.
Why Automatic Transliterate is required in India?
As per Google, nearly 3 quarter of Indians communicate with google in their local languages instead of English as not every Indian understands or practices English to communicate. Moreover, the number of people applying local language for a search query is expanding which compelled Google to come up with something that can be handy for Indians as Indians are one of the top markets of google. With such initiation and improvement, now Indians can easily locate their address that too correctly.
How will this feature work?
The feature works as per the ensemble learning model. Google has applied multiple transliterated dictionaries and modules of an acronym. To conjecture the system, let us understand the below-mentioned example.
Suppose someone has typed in the Mee-nee bar in the Punjabi language. Before the update, the google map would read it as Mini Bar and show the irrelevant result to the user. But momentarily, it will read Mee-mee as Mee-nee only and not mini. Thus, such acts will show the appropriate destination and the user won’t confuse much.
