The first teaser trailer released on October 5, 2019. It gives the introduction of character Dia (Khushi), who instantly falls in love with Rohith (Dheekshith) on her first sight inside a library. The teaser looks promising, telling the story from the insight of a self-contained girl. The teaser announced the movie’s release date as November 8, 2019.

Due to ongoing delays, Dia couldn’t get released on the initial marked release date. On January 27,2020, a new trailer got premiered on the Anand Audio YouTube channel. The trailer gives the hint of the beautiful love stories of Dia with Rohith & Adi (Pruthvi Ambaar) with some painful memories. It is perfectly cut, portraying different emotions of love, happiness, heartbreaks, & pain with a piece of soulful background music. The new trailer has upped the curiosity among the audience now & the makers have announced the new release date with the trailer as a Valentine’s special on February 7,2020.

The Soul of Dia – Theme Song
Dia movie has no individual songs. The makers have released a particular theme song of the film titled “The Soul of Dia.” The theme song is sung by the Sanjith Hegde & Chinmayee with lyrics penned by Dhananjay Ranjan. Ajaneesh Loknath’s brilliant composition has made the song much more heartfelt.
Movie Plot
Dia revolves around the story of a young, introvert college girl who falls in love with her college senior at first view. The film portrays the emotions of the girl on her perception, including love, heartbreaks, & pains with some mother sentiments. The movie has a tagline quoting “Life is full of surprises.” So we can expect a lot of surprises from the film.

Review
Dia is a wonderful attempt in the romantic movie’s genre. The film offers fresh screenplay, brilliant direction & career-best performances from the lead cast backed by the haunting background score. Not many love stories are told from the girl’s point of view & Dia definitely impresses in this point.
The first half starts slowly & picks up immediately with exceptional episodes, surprising you every minute. The second half is absolutely masterclass with the best performance from Pruthvi Ambaar & his scenes with his mother is sure to make anyone heartfelt.
Khushi as Dia couldn’t get better as she gives an award-winning performance. Dheekshith Shetty also makes an impact with his screen presence. Pruthvi Ambaar’s performance stands out & Pavitra Lokesh as a mother is perfect too. The latest songs in the love stories are the most beautiful part. Dia has no songs in it & Ajaneesh Loknath has to get full credits as he takes the movie all to another level with his heartfelt music which will haunt you for a long time. The cinematography is elegant too.
Director K.S. Ashoka surely makes a firm place in the Kannada film industry, suggesting that his first film was not a fluke. He carries the audience off their feet with his splendid writing showcasing love & emotions without many actors as it would have it clumsy.
Overall, Dia is a new age Mungaru Male, as referred to by many & is a must-watch movie this year, especially this Valentine’s. Go fall in love with Dia at your nearest theatres, as it offers nothing but surprises.
